The widespread rainfall will continue intermittently for the remainder of the day and into Tuesday at least. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the entire area due to the possibility of continuous rainfall accumulation through tomorrow 1pm at least.

Short term forecast by the weather service:
Areas of light to moderate rainfall will continue north of Interstate 20 through the afternoon hours. The precipitation will be heaviest east of I-35 where another inch of rain will be possible through 5 PM. This will cause minor flooding of low-lying roadways and flood prone areas. Scattered thunderstorms will be possible south of Interstate 20. A few of these storms will be strong with frequent lightning…heavy rain…small hail and winds in excess of 50 mph possible. These storms will move to the northeast at 15 to 20 mph.
