An update to the last emails I sent out regarding this… widespread light rainfall with a possible rain/snow mix is still in the forecast for the area. Current forecasts put Frisco just out of the area with the higher probabilities of rain/snow potential. However we still may see some intermittent snow flurries on Wednesday morning. Areas just to our west, or generally west of I-35 may receive most of the rain/snow precipitation while areas east of I-35 will receive mostly rain with some occasional snow flurries. Areas set to receive snow will only see a light dusting accumulation on the ground as it will melt off throughout the day. Winds are not forecast as strong on Wednesday as they were previously… currently we are looking at 10-15mph winds, instead of having gusts to 30mph.

The next storm system is now forecast to push through the area on Thursday night and Friday, bringing yet another chance of winter precipitation to the region. Light snowfall is possible in the southern and western portions of north Texas, while light snow flurries may occur for areas north of I-20

Temperatures will remain very cold for the next several days, until Saturday when a small warming trend begins. Expect temps highs to return to the 50s and 60s Sunday and Monday. Until then, temps will bounce around the mid 40s for highs, low 30s for lows.

Lastly for those with any interests in Tampa Bay, a good chance of severe weather is forecast for Wednesday afternoon. Primary weather threats are damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire area under a 30% risk for severe weather, with a 10% risk of significant severe. I would recommend keeping an eye on this for anyone in Florida.
