Along with the 1 hour power outage, and subsequent 8 hours of internet downtime, there is very high wind speeds affecting the Tampa Bay Area. I have listed today‘s high wind speed below, keep in mind that there is still 70% of the day left at the time of this post and plenty of opportunity to exceed this observation:

Power outage hit Treasure Island just after Midnight on 5/7/07 and appears to have affected all of Treasure Island except a very small portion immediately along the TI Causeway in Paradise Island. Severe weather spanned the entire stretch of the Florida peninsula today prompting a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, numerous Severe Storm Warnings quite a few Tornado Warnings. Critical hardware failure has resulted in server downtime lasting 1.5 days. Power supply failure struck my server leaving it powerless. After extensive troubleshooting I have determined the problem was due to faulty power supply. I have since replaced this power supply and the server has started up successfully! SmartForecast once again has outdone all other forecasts. Small line of showers headed for the Tampa Bay area tonight, should be here around 7:30p to 8:30p. UV Index today broke the previous record of 11.9 by soaring to a high of 12.5! Solar Radiation peaked above 1200w/sqm today but did not set or break the record. I have only begun monitoring the UV Index and Solar Radiation with the new weather station starting on 2/28/07.
Today my weather station has set a new wind speed record. 35mph recorded at 2:01am 4/16/07 This record is not my all-time high of 38mph, but is the record for my new weather station breaking the previous record of 33mph set on 3/1/07 and tied multiple times on 4/15/07
